Ya'll come North, eh? | ||
The adventure began for Pixie and Dixie in Texas in January 2001. Their owner retired and could no longer keep them. Laura, a volunteer for the Rexcue Railroad, drove to Texas from her home in Little Rock, Arkansas to get the girls and foster them. It took several months before the perfect home was found . . . 892.6 miles away! Volunteer drivers were found through the Rexcue Railroad and off they went the weekend of June 23-24, 2001. Their trip took six volunteer drivers and overnight stays in Tennessee and in Ohio. Here is their photo story. | ||
